My name is Lori Willis, but in the pony community I am known as LAW or Ladylaw. I started customizing ponies in something of a roundabout way. A friend hooked me on a game called Pony Island, for which the artwork is loosely based off of My Little Pony (MLP). This eventually led me to the MLP collecting community, where I discovered the existance of custom ponies. I had no idea that people made custom My Little Ponies, but it seemed like a lot of fun.
I had some experience with painting models, due to my hobby of miniature war gaming. I thought to myself that customizing a pony couldn't be harder than that, so I made one. I was hooked after that. I find it a relaxing and unique way to express my creativity. Although I often try to stay in the spirit of Hasbro's style and create things I think could have been made by them, I do occasionally do scupting on my ponies to add friends, or embellishments.
Any pony I make will have the following on the bottom of one foot: the date I completed it, and my maker's mark: 
What I do:
- Rehair
- Paint - full-body, eyes, and symbols
- Sculpt - furry feet, pets, other small embellishments; apoxie sculpt
- Jewelry - I sometimes make jewelry with ribbons, beads, and string or wire instead of sculpting it
- Wings - feathers, fantasy film, and angelina fibers
What I don't do:
- Dye - body or hair
- Sculpt - hair, wings, or full-body outfits; clay that bakes
- Hasbro reproductions - I will not make a copy of any Hasbro issued pony; this includes making 80's ponies in the new style
