Santa Pony Witch's Brew Carrotcake Dreams Sweet Valentine Lady Darkfire Lori & Adam Babies Nerds Pony Wavedancer Spring Fever Midnight Mischief
This is my first ever custom pony, and I made if for my husband. She was completed on February 25, 2008. When I was talking about ideas for customizing and looking over the dollyhair.com colors I commented on the Glow-in-the-Dark hair. He said, "Make me a glowing pony," and so I set out to do so. Sadly, I can't seem to take pictures that show the glow. Whenever I'm in a place that's dark enough, the flash lights her up; and if I shut the flash off, I just get a dark image. I'm afraid it's just too soft of a glow.
At any rate, Midnight Mischief, so named because my hubby is the world's biggest prankster, began life as a Dream Blue. She has received a full body repaint in Vallejo Game Color acrylics. Her irises and starts were then painted over with Decoart Glow-in-the-Dark acrylic. It took several layers to make it work, but she glows lovely. At that stage she was sealed with Games Workshop matte varnish spray. I then went over her eyes with several layers of Vallejo gloss varnish.
I decided on the stars and jester head for the symbol after much debate. When I thought "glow-in-the-dark" the first thing I thought of was the stars I put on my ceiling as a kid. I didn't want to do just stars, though, for fear of bearing too much resemblance to TAF Milkyway or something. I asked hubby what he thought I should do for her symbol and he just said, "I dunno, a moon and stars or something." Clearly he was of no help. Then I thought of the Jester to go with the Mischief theme. I had to leave the stars though. It just fit the theme too well.
She was rehaired with a combination of dollyhair's After Midnight and Daquiri Ice for the blue streaks and, of course, Glow-in-the-Dark (White) for the white streak. She also has a lovely star necklace.
