Santa Pony Witch's Brew Carrotcake Dreams Sweet Valentine Lady Darkfire Lori & Adam Babies Nerds Pony Wavedancer Spring Fever Midnight Mischief
This pony was made for Kar_Red_Roses at the Trading Post for the Winter/Holiday swap in 2009. It was completed on November 5, 2009.
Kar said she likes the glittery, glass Christmas tree ornaments, like the ones done by Christopher Radko, so I thought it would be neat to try to make a pony into a Christmas ornament in the same style. The santa suit, hair, tail, and toy sack were sculpted with FIMO. This was my first experience with FIMO and I have to say that I was very impressed with how it handled for making clothing. The white "fluffy" trim of the hat and suit are covered in Martha Stuart's crystal fine glitter. The face and front hooves (mittens) of the pony are painted with Vallejo Game Color acrylics. The whole pony was sealed with Sculpey gloss varnish.
This pony is a functional ornament, albeit a heavy one. There is a small loop, held in place with Apoxie Sculpt, on her back just between the toy sack and her neck where a hook can be placed to hang her on a tree if desired.
